EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE DISABLED

The museums in England help promote equal opportunity between disabled persons and other persons. They believe that enhancing services for disabled people has a direct and positive impact on the quality of experience for all users of the museums. They intend to encourage participation by disabled persons in public life.

Therefore, they provide large print information for temporary exhibitions, audio description for temporary exhibitions and portable Induction Loop system for most gallery talks. They also design exhibition build and text so it is fully accessible to wheelchair users. They think of all kinds of disabled people when they serve. Though Hong Kong’s museums do provide barrier-free facilities, they still need to upgrade.

Barrier free environment is adopted in the museum.

Elevator for the disabled is included in the museum.
